Masculinity in a box is a project that examines the social construction of masculinity through photography and installation. Inspired by the dissonance between on-screen male portrayals and reality, the project employs a symbolic “box” to frame the male body, facilitating a reverse gaze from a female creator. It investigates how power, social expectations, and identity performance collectively shape and confine the narrow definitions of ‘masculinity’.
